KEITH HENDRICKS

FamilySearch Essentials: Discover the vast world of FamilySearch to unearth your family’s history, 11:15 AM

Keith comes from a family committed to family history work. His father is a past president of the Henry Hendricks Family Organization, which is a society providing newsletters and professional genealogical help to the descendants of one of the first families to settle Long Island, New York. For most of his life, Keith believed his family had already finished all needed genealogical work with little left to do. This changed about seven years ago when his son was serving a mission for The Church in a small town in Canada with the same name as one of his grandparents. Keith googled the history of the town's founder and started to use FamilySearch and Ancestry to see if he could connect the town's founder to his line. This led to the discovery of a fascinating story regarding a line where little work was done and little was known. But through the newly available records and research tools, great progress could be made. Like others in his family, Family History is now a passion and a focus. Keith has learned that there is still vast amounts of work to be done, and amazing resources available to assist.
